Why I Am Running

  • To improve patient safety and help Palomar provide the highest quality care for all patients

  • To make sure that employees and contracted providers are treated fairly

  • To ensure maximum transparency with both hospital and board decisions

  • To take control of the hospital back from an out of town corporation and restore it to the voters of the hospital district

Background

A native of north county (born and raised in Oceanside), I have lived in Escondido since 2014. I have been a Registered Nurse for more than fifteen years, and have worked in healthcare since 2000. I have worked as a nurse all over Southern California, in a variety of departments and types of nursing - telemetry/inpatient, critical care, emergency, pediatric emergency, procedural sedation, and pediatric triage/clinic. My “Covid Years” were spent in both the Emergency Department and as a Rapid Response Nurse for Palomar Health (primarily at the Poway and former Downtown Campus locations). I hold an Associate’s degree in Nursing, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and will receive my Master’s degree in Nursing in September 2024.

I am currently employed full time at Tri-City Medical Center as a staff Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.

Plus, I have two of the cutest and sweetest miniature schnauzers in Oliver and Violet!
