Why I Am Running
To improve patient safety and help Palomar provide the highest quality care for all patients
To make sure that employees and contracted providers are treated fairly
To ensure maximum transparency with both hospital and board decisions
To take control of the hospital back from an out of town corporation and restore it to the voters of the hospital district
Background
A native of north county (born and raised in Oceanside), I have lived in Escondido since 2014. I have been a Registered Nurse for more than fifteen years, and have worked in healthcare since 2000. I have worked as a nurse all over Southern California, in a variety of departments and types of nursing - telemetry/inpatient, critical care, emergency, pediatric emergency, procedural sedation, and pediatric triage/clinic. My “Covid Years” were spent in both the Emergency Department and as a Rapid Response Nurse for Palomar Health (primarily at the Poway and former Downtown Campus locations). I hold an Associate’s degree in Nursing, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and will receive my Master’s degree in Nursing in September 2024.
I am currently employed full time at Tri-City Medical Center as a staff Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.
Plus, I have two of the cutest and sweetest miniature schnauzers in Oliver and Violet!
